Privacy Policy
DNC to MONEY comes in two forms: a free version that shows ads, and Full, a Google Play subscription that adds the call recorder and demand letters and removes the ads. Your call log and recordings never leave your phone in either one. The free version's ads are provided by Google, and Google collects some data to show them. This page explains both.
What stays on your device
The calls you log — dates, phone numbers, company names, what the caller said, your notes — are stored in the app's own local storage on your phone. Audio you record (Full) is written to the app's private folder on your device. None of it is sent to us or anyone else unless you personally export or share it. We do not run a server and there is no account to sign into.
Ads in the free version
The free version shows a banner at the bottom of the screen and, occasionally, a full-screen ad after you save a call. These ads come from Google AdMob. To show and measure them, Google's ads software on your phone collects:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers;
- approximate location derived from your IP address;
- information about ad interactions and how the app is used;
- diagnostic and crash information.
Google uses this to deliver, measure and protect advertising, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, and you can change that choice later under Your Rights › Your plan › Privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads.
Ads never see your call log, notes or recordings. Full has no ads, and the ads software does not run for Full users.
Subscriptions
Full is sold and billed by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app checks with Google Play whether this Google account has an active Full subscription, and keeps a simple yes/no on the phone so it opens correctly offline. Manage or cancel the subscription in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
Audio recording (Full)
Once Full is unlocked, the app asks for microphone permission so the Record button works. It records the device microphone only, and only while you have a recording running, which Android shows you with an ongoing notification you can stop at any time. The app does not access your phone's call audio stream, does not read your call history, and does not use the Accessibility service. Recording laws differ by state; some require every person on a call to consent. The app tells you which rule applies where you are, but following it is your responsibility.
Other network requests
The app may load two typefaces from Google Fonts. It works without them.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, sell or receive your call log, notes, recordings or contacts.
- No access to your contacts, call history, precise location, camera, or files outside the app's own folder.
- No analytics of our own. The only third-party software that collects data is Google's ads SDK in the free version, and Google Play Billing.
Deleting your data
Delete individual calls from the Call Log or recordings from the Recording screen. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, removes everything the app has kept. For data Google holds in connection with ads, use My Ad Center and your Google account controls.
Children
The app is for adults dealing with telemarketing calls. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears at this address with a new date at the top.
